I recently made a book trailer for Mike Faloon’s wonderful The Other Night at Quinn’s: New Adventures in the Sonic Underground, a memoir-meditation on community and self-discovery seen through the lens of improvised music presented at Beacon, NY’s Quinn’s. In keeping with the book’s collage aesthetic, I pulled from references in the book and stock footage, layering and quick-cutting to match Faloon’s sense of dislocation. After the embed is a list of the source material seen and heard in the trailer (excluding Faloon’s reading of Quinn’s excerpts).
